TungLok Bags 2 Awards at Annual Culinary Event in Taipei

On 11 September 2023, our President & CEO, Mr Andrew Tjioe, was invited to attend the 13th International Summit Forum on Chinese Food Culture in Taipei.

Organised annually by the Great China Catering and Restaurant Association, this is the first event, post-covid, after a hiatus of 4 years.

The 3-Day event, which comprised of a Culinary Competition, a Forum, and an Award-presentation Ceremony, witnessed a stellar audience which included current and former Taiwanese politicians and lawmakers, legislative council members, as well as restaurateurs, masterchefs, celebrity food critics and culinary experts from both Taipei and around the world.

At the Forum, Mr Tjioe delivered a presentation on TungLok Group and shared the company’s experience handling crisis during the pandemic and post-covid recovery.

We were also honoured to receive 2 of the Asia Pacific Top 10 Best Dish Award: TungLok Seafood's Signature Chilli Crab, and TungLok Peking Duck's Authentic Peking Duck.

Mr Tjioe was presented the awards by none other than Ms Theresa Lin, the multi-award winning food stylist in director Lee Ang’s acclaimed Oscar-nominated movie, Eat Drink Man Woman, and the catering director for Life of Pi. The author of nearly 30 cookbooks, and dubbed the “Julia Child of Taiwan”,  Ms Lin’s knowledge of Chinese cuisine is unmatched.
